Over the past few months, SIS has been designing a COIL project on Intercultural Dialogue in collaboration with University College Utrecht. Today, on September 12th, we held the first meeting introducing the goals of the project, its partners and possibilities of its implementation in beyond the digital world. This and upcoming meetings will involve UCU Italian and Intercultural Communication students, our SIS students for the Global Citizenship course and our refugee students from Project Proventus in line with Home4theWorld. The meetings will revolve around exploring the various facets of Intercultural Dialogue and will conclude with activity proposals for Home4TheWorld project developed by Nuova Associazione Culturale Ulisseand supported by SIS.

During this first meeting, the students already shared a lot of interesting inputs to design activities to be developed during Home4TheWorld. In fact, from October 15-21, a group from UCU students will come to Siena to implement these activities that they will prepare together in mixed groups over the next few weeks. The next meeting will be Oct. 3 and it will be a time to consolidate ideas on how to put the activities into practice, thinking about obstacles, materials, and ultimate goals for their implementation. The final plan will be then to create a guide for other associations, institutions and/or schools that would like to create opportunities for welcoming and integrating refugees, asylum seekers and migrants in the future.
